Thanks to a friendship with an owner of historic vineyards in Neive, we were able to lease the Albesani and Gallina vineyards, historic mentions for the production of Barbaresco. This is the first vintage produced.

LUCA AND HOW HE SEES WINEMAKING

Luca joined the company after completing his studies at oenology school.
It was in this year that he decided to lengthen the macerations and the time spent ageing in wood; he also came up with the idea of storing the Riserva in neutral containers.

Alfredo and Luigina bought the historic Cascina Pira, in the Rocche area of Castiglione Falletto. They began making Barolo, which at the time bore the labels La Rocca and La Pira. When geographical mentions were introduced, it became simply Pira.

THE BIRTH OF BARBARESCO AND BAROLO

The physiognomy of the two great Nebbiolo-based wines began to take shape.
The foundations were laid for the canonisation of Barolo and Barbaresco, which would lead them to win increasing acclaim and establish themselves on the international scene in the decades that followed.

In the old town centre, our ancestors Vincenzo and Rosa produced the first bottles of what is now Barbaresco, as we know it today.
