The name Carso originates from the piedmontese dialect (cors), which was the name historically given to plots of vines in the area. It is one of the historic barbaresco vineyards.
The Carso vineyard has been owned by our family since the 1950s. It is located above the “rocche” of Barbaresco.
We own an area of 1.10 hectares facing eastwards. The soil is of Tertiary (Cenozoic) origin, formed around 70 million years ago by marine sedimentation. It is rich in sands alternating with marls.
